Metro Imaging at ShootLDN 2015

06 October 2015
Metro is excited to announce our extensive involvement in the exciting events taking at ShootLDN 2015 which takes place in Brick Lane, London this Autumn.

Taking its steer from the concept originally established by Hasselblad USA in New York in 2009, ShootLDN is unlike other photography fairs. It's a interactive hub for creatives, an exciting, informative and inspiring event with a venue full of content aimed at the professional photographer.  Free to attend it is supported by the industry’s leading photographic suppliers and hosted by some of the world’s leading photographers and creative.

Metro is delighted to be taking part in a variety of ways this year: our expert technicians will be on hand on the Metro Imaging stand to take a look at personal files, answer technical questions and give advice to photographers throughout the event. There will be product samples of our paper types and mounting options as well as coverage of all our specialist services.

Additionally as part of the live events taking place over the two-day event and alongside many industry specialists, Metro’s Creative Director, Steve Macleod is hosting two seminars:
Thursday 8th October - The Rise of the Instant Photographer: a panel of four industry professionals will be discussing the shape of the industry at a time when access to a global audience and a photography career is becoming as instant as the images themselves.
Friday 9th October - 5-in-1: Building Your Brand Image: Steve will offer valuable advise and his personal experiences about how professional photographers can build their own brand image - not only through imagery, but other aspects of business such as admin, sales and networking, marketing and being your own agent.

At the core of shootLDN will be the numerous live shoots and demonstrations.  Metro has produced C Type prints for international photographer Carlos Lumiere who will be passing on some valuable professional tips and tricks during his ‘Fashion and Beauty Lighting’ live shoot.

Metro has also been involved in producing two exhibitions on display at the event:
Metro 4 Hasselblad: showcases the work and print methods used by a number of Metro Imaging staff who had the pleasure of experimenting with the new medium format Hasselblad H5D 50c camera
Metro/ShootLDN Instagram Competition: earlier this summer we ran an Open Call Instagram competition, the four winning images will be on display. All images to display were printed directly onto Foamex using our state-of-the art-Direct to Media Printer.
We were also delighted to produce a largescale 3m vinyl promoting the Hasselblad Masters 2016 competition the winners of which will be announced in early 2016.
