04 March 2014
Metro is thrilled to announce that we are this year’s print sponsors for the Royal Photographic Society’s annual International Print Competition, now in its 157th year. The prestigious competition is open for all to enter - students, amateurs and professional photographers of all ages and with no specific brief. Metro is delighted to be offering a printing and finishing package for shortlisted photographers, for the final selection of prints for the exhibition, which will be touring later in the year.

The annual RPS International Print Exhibition is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world. Anyone can enter with the same chance of selection, from the artistic to documentary, from portraiture to natural history, all styles of photography can be entered for consideration.  Some fantastic prizes are on offer as well as the the kudos that such a competition brings. The selectors, who this year include Paul Seawright , Photographer and Professor of Photography at the University of Ulster; Anne McNeill, Director of Impressions Gallery; Jordi Ruiz Cirera, Documentary Photographer; Marc Aspland FRPS, Chief Sports Photographer for The Times; Tim Rudman FRPS (Chairman), Photographer, come from varied photographic backgrounds.

After the closing date, the selectors will make a shortlist from all the digital images submitted, those shortlisted photographers will then be given 4 weeks to submit prints of their selected images. Metro is offering a special print package to shortlisters which includes a special discounted price to print their image plus delivery to the relevant address in time for the final selection.

Selectors will hand pick the final 100 prints for the touring International Print Exhibition 157, including the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Under 30’s Gold Award winners. The touring exhibition gives recognition and exposure to all shortlisters from photographers just starting out in their careers to fully fledged professionals.
