Lambda and Lightjet Digital C Type Photographic Prints

View papers

Digital C Type photographic prints produced on our Lambda or Lightjet photographic printers have the archival and tonal benefits of traditional photographic papers, with the control and storage advantages of digital photo printing.

The Durst Lambda was one of the first ever laser printers to produce digital C Type photographic prints. At Metro Imaging we have both Lambda and Lightjet photographic printers. In fact our Lightjet 500XL is one of only ten ever produced in the world. It is the only photographic printer in the world capable of producing photographic prints up to 10ft x 6ft in one section. So now super size printing is within reach of any photographer in the UK. Photographers, artists and architects have taken advantage of this special photo printing facility for a variety of amazing supersized photographic exhibitions, installations and events.

We offer many levels of service for C Type printing at Metro Imaging: Standard, Premier and Online Prints. Click here to see a quick checklist of the difference between the services.

Professional Photographic Printing Services

Premier service

The Premier print service is aimed at clients who need more input than a simple on-screen check. This service begins with a meeting to establish the parameters of the brief. You are introduced to a production manager and printer, both of whom will stay with you for the duration of the job and indeed for the duration of your time working with Metro. The dialogue between yourself and the printer extends beyond the initial brief and emails and calls are passed back and forth over the duration of production.

Standard service

The Standard print service is aimed at clients who want high quality prints with a minimum of operator work. We can resize, add borders, colour correct and adjust your print according to your instructions. Ordinarily this service includes a quick ‘once over’ screen check where you can have a quick look on our systems to make sure everything is OK. If you think you will need to sit down with a printer, it’s probably best to choose the Premier Service where you have the benefit of other privileges, such as a dedicated printer and production manager.

Online photo printing

If you are happy to fully prepare your own file ready for printing and do not need the help of one of our technicians then Metroprint online photo printing, our fully automated self service printing facility, could be for you. With Metroprint we offer C Type, or black and white, Lambda prints alongside Giclee prints plus mounting and framing services, all at online prices.
