Duratrans and Duraclear

One of the great features of our new Superwide Lightjet XL500 is the ability to produce enormous Duratrans at a level of quality unmatched by anything else out there.

Duratrans (short for Durable Transparency) is a brand name of Kodak translucent-base film. This rich material, when lit from behind, brings an outstanding cinematic dimension to photographic stills. With new super-slim LED lightboxes, Duratrans have become popular for artists, architects and interior designers. Metro offer a unique super-wide Duratran printing service on our 500XL Lightjet, meaning superb sharpness, colour saturation and an overall image quality unobtainable by any other process.

We offer a Premier level of service for Duratrans printing. The Premier print service is aimed at clients who want to work one to one with a printer, adjust files, approve test prints and have the benefit of their images being archived for future reprints or editions. We can also offer advice and assist on the production of lightboxes, making the whole process simple and streamlined from image file to installation.
