Offspring Photo Meet Event 2016

06 May 2016
We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Photo Meet where this month we will be involved in the Portfolio Review days which are running for two full days alongside a full program of photography inspired events, talks, workshops and networking opportunities, giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about the dynamics of the contemporary photography market.

The Offspring Photo Meet will be gathering together top photography experts to impart their wisdom and advice to an audience of professional and aspiring image-makers. Magnum photographer Martin Parr will be delivering a talk about his illustrious photography career.  Metro is sponsoring a workshop led by photographer Brian Griffin who will tutor a small and intimate group of 12 photographers on studio portraiture and still life, where Metro will be printing free of charge a selection of the images taken during the workshop by the participants.

Our own Creative Director, Steve Macleod will be participating on one of the portfolio reviews days along with many industry experts: curators, picture editors, art buyers etc. including: Hannah Brenchley - Picture Editor, Tatler Magazine; Karen McQuaid – Curator, The Photographers Gallery; Tony Bell - Picture Editor, The Observer; Simon Bainbridge – Editor, BJP and Katie Webb - Photography Director, Telegraph Magazines to name but a few.

Additionally there will be free skills exchanges taking place on both days with experts who will teach each other and other groups of photographers their practical knowledge on specific topics related to the industry such as DAM (digital assets management), Photoshop, WordPress etc. on the closing evening there will also be a Photo Quiz with Gary Cohen and the announcement of the Best Portfolio Awards.
