Metro supports Petros Chrisostomou at Spring Projects
11th November – 16th December
Tuesday-Wednesday 10-5pm, Thursday-Friday 12-7pm, Saturday 11-4pm

Metro is pleased to have printed the work of talented young British artist Petros Chrisostomou, whose debut solo exhibition, Pandora, opens at Spring Projects, London on 11th November.

Christostomou constructs hybrid spaces, combining the concerns of artist, sculptor and curator. He creates a dynamic paradox between the three-dimensional architectural models he builds and the final photograph that renders it two-dimensional.

Christostomou’s model interiors contain life-size objects and within this context the objects are transformed into oversized sculptures – surreal representations of themselves. The perversion of scale is meant to elude and seduce us.

Often whimsical and humorous, Pandora features a selection of pivotal pieces that form the artist’s oeuvre to date.

Petros Christostomou was born in London, 1981. He is resident on the International Studio and Curatorial Programme, New York. Recent selected exhibitions include Revolver, Galerie Xippas, Montevideo (2010); Fresh Faced and Wild Eyed, The Photographers Gallery, London (2009), Young Greek Artists, EMST National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (2008).
