Marylin at Niagra
December 2011

IThe Marilyn at Niagara Collection  - An exclusive collection of stunning images of previously unavailable photographs presented as Limited Edition prints.

Metro have recently had the pleasure of being involved in the presentation of some previously unavailable images of Marilyn Monroe, shot by Canadian photographer Jock Carroll in 1952.  Our expert technicians here at Metro scanned the original negatives, which were in surprisingly good condition for their age and worked digitally to ensure that they were perfectly restored and colour balanced to reflect their former glory.

The shots were taken on the set of “Niagara”, a thriller-film noir set around and on location at the Falls, introducing Marilyn Monroe in her first major dramatic film appearance, to much critical acclaim and success for Twentieth Century Fox.

Jock Carroll was a former war correspondent and Royal Canadian Air Force pilot turned photographer.  The assignment for the Canadian Weekend Magazine, enabled Carroll to spend a couple of days on set with Monroe, photographing her in informal scenarios as well as on set.  The two hit it off: Carroll struck by her youth and beauty, and Monroe intrigued by his tales from Korea and the news desk.

The first part of the collection consists of six images, three full colour prints produced in a limited edition of only seven Digital C-Type Lambda and three black and white printed silver gelatin Lambda prints in a limited edition of twenty five.

Please visit the The Marilyn at Niagara photo collection for more information or to see how you can own one of these magnificent limited edition prints.
