Metro support Lens on Twelve: The Games – Inspiring Images

06 July 2012
Metro have recently been involved in producing some amazing and inspiring images for this unique exhibition created by Lens on Twelve which is open for the entire period of The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project brings together twenty internationally renowned artists from countries participating in the Games.

The divergent images from all corners of the globe were produced on a variety of media including C-type, Giclée and Digital Fibre with a selection being mounted on aluminium and framed at our newly opened framing department.

The concept of this project was to take the shift of focus from the attention of the games and the arenas to those on the other side of the screen, they asked celebrated artists of different nationalities to express any thought inspired by the 2012 Games, however fleeting or abstract, in a single photographic work.

In just one photographic image, one artistic thought, each expressed what The Games meant to them. The exhibition puts side-by-side work from Venice Biennial representatives, Pulitzer Prize nominees, and Robert Capa Gold Medalists.

The exhibition is a triumph of individual creativity and a celebration of the infinitely diverse responses to be had from this global sporting event.

Editions of the works will be sold at the exhibition.
