Metro is delighted to announce a new partnership with Be Smart About Art (BSAA), a social enterprise company created to offer support and knowledge to art professionals.
With a company motto "Art is your life. Make it your living." BSAA offer help to curators, artists, dealers and galleries through many avenues including a members network with fellow art organisations, mentoring, out-reach programmes and an extensive training programme of events. The aim is to develop a sustainable business in a rapidly changing industry, unifying creative and professional practice with integrity.
Metro's new partnership will offer BSAA members special discounted on Metro print rates, lab tours, 1 to 1 offers and that’s just at the start - the relationship is set to develop over the next 12 months.
Susan Mumford, ex-gallery owner and founder of BSAA came up with the concept for the organisation after realising there was a need for support within the industry; witnessing the emotional, personal, physical and financial struggles which contribute to a stressful business. Her goal was to help indivuduals run successful art practices and she spent a lot of time working on a one-on-one basis with professionals in the field and within just a few short months she discovered that mentees' art businesses were benefiting. Accordingly in 2012, the current programme was born.
