Metro is delighted to be working with Magnum Photos producing their latest contact sheet prints for sale, offering a unique insight into the methods used by iconic Magnum photographers.
The contact sheets feature the work of eight of Magnum’s photographers taken from the archives including Eve Arnold’s shots taken in 1960 on set during the filming of ‘The Misfits’ featuring Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Montogomery Clift; David Hurn’s images of the Beatles during a recording session at Abbey Road in 1964 and Dennis Stock’s iconic images of James Dean in NYC in 1955. These classic images provide a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of Magnum’s history with every sheet clearly showing the sequence of frames and the marks of the editing process on each sheet.
Metro produces all the sheets in lab, printing the originals without alteration onto 16" x 20" premium quality archival Hanhemuhle Fine Art Baryta
paper, a paper containing similar qualities to that used in the past in traditional silver fibre prints. The prints are stamped, embossed, sleeved and packaged in Magnum boxes ready for distribution.
