Metro support Samuel Liebert's first solo show 'All that Glitters'

30 November 2012

Metro is proud to have worked with US born photographer Samuel Liebert, printing and mounting fourteen large-scale (60” x 40”) resin prints for his first solo show ‘All That Glitters’ which opens soon at the Cob Gallery London, in support of the Terrence Higgins Trust.

'All that Glitters' is an intimate series of images taken this year after Liebert was introduced to Glyn Fussell, one of the creators of the trannie club ‘Sink the Pink’.  He was fortunate to photograph a group of enthralling individuals who push the boundaries of gender, beauty and acceptance amongst the trannie community. Taken from the position of one outsider to another, Liebert’s images have a documentary perspective, the scale of the prints revealing an intense detail. Liebert has stripped the usual glamour and trappings of performance so often associated with trannies to reveal poses ranging from plaintive, to coquettish and triumphant, what unites the images however, are displays of pride.

20% of sale proceeds will go to the Terrence Higgins Trust whose vision, “is a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.”
