New York based photographer Karen Fuchs is a portrait, celebrity, and advertising photographer, who has been shooting internationally for the past 20 years and whose work has been exhibited around the world. This unique exhibition is a rare insight into the private life of the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, featuring many of the images taken at his home in Jamaica.
Metro has been thrilled to work with Karen on this exhibition producing twenty-four Lambda C-Type matt prints that we have subsequently reverse perspex mounted onto 5mm aluminium.
Kerry McCarthy, Sports Journalist explains about the background to the project: “In professional sport today, elite athletes are often media trained to convey blandness as standard but Usain Bolt is different. His charisma and personality shine out every time he steps onto the track leaving fans feeling at once as though they know him but also wishing they knew him better. Well now you can.
The images taken by my friend, renowned New York-based photographer Karen Fuchs, bring you Bolt at his most natural, spontaneous and vulnerable.”
Karen’s passion, sense of style, and ability to deeply connect with her subjects are reflected in the vibrant imagery that can be witnessed in this exhibition.
