Metro's expertise has once again be called upon to restore images in the Doris Day Charity Calendar 2013. The Discovering Doris production company were so thrilled with the work we produced on the calendar last year they returned again this year for our image restoration skills.
The images, all personally selected by Ms. Day from original photographic prints from the archives, were either transparencies or negatives which were initially scanned
to achieve the finest results. Drum scanning
provides the best working platform for retouching and printing images such as these before a subtle and gentle retouch
hand helps bring the colour and detail in the images back to life.
Metro has great experience and a sound reputation for restoration
work and understands the requirements of the client and particularly recognises that these types of work should not look too ‘cleaned up’ or clinical. It is a delicate and subjective task with the main aim to refresh the original condition whilst retaining the subtle values of the image.
