Metro is delighted to announce our support of this year’s recently unveiled competition with partners Photovoice and The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
The NCVO champions the voluntary sector and volunteering, they connect, represent and support voluntary organisations and the Members' Photography Competition is looking for a photograph communicating the difference NCVO members are making to the world in which we live.
Open to staff members, trustees, volunteers or service users the competition is hoping for photos which vividly demonstrate the work volunteers and voluntary organisations do every day. With the theme of ‘A Thousand Words’ the photos fall into two categories and can either be taken by:
1. people who work for a member volunteer organisation or
2. users of a member volunteer group.
The expert judging panel consists of Metro’s own Director Steve Macleod, Magnum photographer Ian Berry,
Martyn Lewis, CBE Chair of NCVO and Tom Elkins
from PhotoVoice who will pick a shortlist of 12 images and then open the final vote up to the public .
Prizes include a free place at Evolve 2015, a Fuji Finepix AX 16MP digital camera and a free place at the PhotoVoice participatory photography workshop (worth £500), Photovoice membership for one year.
