Metro Sponsors Shutter Hub Open Exhibition 2016 & Events

19 April 2016
We are delighted to announce we are sponsoring the Shutter Hub Open Exhibition 2016.  Following on from on last year’s quality open-call photographic exhibition this year will see an expanded programme of events including talks, workshops and a Portfolio Review - all staged in wonderful, intimate venues across Cambridge.

Shutter Hub is a community and online resource established for photographers, providing opportunities to promote their work, receive support, develop themselves professionally and exhibit work both online and in exhibitions.

Neil Elcome, Shutter Hub Operations Director comments: 'Metro Imaging are established as leaders in the field of specialist photographic printing, so naturally we're very pleased to have them involved for this year's OPEN, which will allow us to make the event bigger and better than ever before, with more for photographers and the public to enjoy and discover.'

Call for entries for this year’s Open competition is now open with a deadline date of 15th May 2016.  As the title suggests the brief for the competition is open with an opportunity for anyone, anywhere to enter. All types of subject matter and formats of photography are acceptable - from digital to analogue, and everything in-between, including alternative process, scientific, and i-phoneography. Other art forms which have photography as a major component will also be accepted.

Metro will be sponsoring a special prize for the ‘Best in Show’, voted for by visitors to the exhibition as well as an online voting audience who vote for their favourite photograph from the exhibition.

Prizes include:
•  An hour consultation with one of our Master Printers working with you on your chosen files. Learn about profiling & preparation for a fine art finish to your printed work. Discuss your ideal look for the prints and work with the printer to achieve the desired effect.
•  Set of 12 portfolio prints  - 12”x 8” C-type matt/gloss which will be produced after your session

Additionally we will be providing expert advice and industry experience to the various events talking place including talks and portfolio reviews. Watch this space for updates as further details are announced.
