Metro is delighted to announce a new mentorship award
that will be presented at this year's Photo London event taking place later this spring. A shortlist of artists will be drawn up from a selection put forward by each gallery taking part in Photo London and an overall winner chosen and announced at the event.
Established in 2005 by Metro Imaging Director Steve Macleod, the programme is recognised as a valuable industry platform that supports and mentors emerging artists and photographers. Tailored to the needs of the nominated winner, the programme is developed over a twelve-month period and is very much designed to provide focused support, enabling the winner to take their practice to the next level. The award includes £1000 credit for use on our varied services
, direct access to experienced and award-winning printers
and technicians, introduction to industry leaders and networking opportunities as well as ongoing assessment and review of practice, Personal and Professional Development (PPD) advice and support.
Photo London is a new unique photography event at Somerset House. Featuring a major international photography fair for up to 70 of the world’s leading photography galleries together with an innovative public programme supported by the LUMA Foundation
, there will also be panel discussions over the event weekend in which Steve Macleod will be taking part.
Additionally the public programme will open up new audiences for photography, showcase emerging talent and promote the concept of photography as an asset class.
