Metro is excited to have produced a new largescale vinyl artwork
measuring 3m x 2m, by artist Kara Bieber
which has been installed as part of her exhibition "Pop Buy!" in celebration of art and design to launch a new creative space, Makers & Curators in Clerkenwell, London.
Kara created the original A4 sized artwork named ‘Five Stars’, from hand cut collages produced through the up-cycling of magazines - an act of imagination and re-creation suspended between the boundaries of realism and fantasy. The creation was scanned
and printed onto hardwearing vinyl using our large format Epson to produce a stunning print with exceptional clarity, tonal range and colour. On display alongside ‘Five Stars’ are a further 10 collages produced by Kara as well as a collection of unseen collaged vintage Polaroids.
Launched in 2013 at a London exhibition alongside works by Hirst, Emin and Quinn, Kara named her first collection "i don't wanna be famous!" and has since produced over forty images, excluding commissions, which have sold as limited edition prints in the UK and overseas to private collectors, hotels and commercial spaces.
Kara’s original career as a photographer began at the tender age of eleven with a solo exhibition of photographs she had taken in India. Since then she has exhibited extensively and was named winner of the "Woman Photographer of the Year Award 2005" at the Venice International Photographic Competition, aged just nineteen.
