Metro is delighted to support award winning Dutch photographer Hans Kemp, printing
over twenty images for his latest exhibition Eastern Light, which features work from his latest book Burmese Light along with other iconic Asian images and opens tonight at London’s gallery@oxo until 15th September.
The stunning images and the book ‘Burmese Light’ are the result of many early morning and late evening journeys taken by Hans Kemp and acclaimed writer Tom Vater who set out to capture some of the sights and stories of the little-known Burma, or Myanmar as the country is currently known and provide a beautiful introduction to the vast cultural heritage and landscape of the country. It shows a land of lost cities, crumbling pagodas and mountainous lakes; serene river settings, beautiful beaches, remote jungles and as yet inaccessible snow-capped peaks. It shows an otherworldly land cloaked in mystery, bursting with visual splendor and amazing peoples should serve as a visually illuminating introduction to a land that is, as Kipling noted, unlike any other.
Kemp’s passion lies in his editorial work and book projects and he has been published to great acclaim in a wide variety of international newspapers and magazines and he has published several books of his work along with crime fiction which he publishes together with acclaimed author Tom Vater, under the Crime Wave Press label.
