Seamus Murphy at Asia House
A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan 1994-2007
Tuesday 01 Jul, 2008 - Saturday 13 Sep, 2008
Location: Main gallery
Metro is pleased to announce our support for Seamus Murphy’s moving exhibition about Afghanistan at Asia House. Seamus Murphy has produced stunning Black and White Lambda prints at Metro for this important exhibition at Asia House.
From 1994 to 2007, Seamus Murphy photographed the effects of the Taliban regime, the tumultuous years of civil war and the historical elections following the fall of the Taliban. Alongside scenes of war and politics, his magnificent photographs capture intimate images of domesticity, work and leisure. The exhibition at Asia House will show a selection of photographs from his book A Darkness Visible: Afghanistan (Saqi Books).
