Metro produces portfolio prints for Edward Fury - LPA Student Challenges Three Winner

28 July 2014
Metro has an on–going commitment to provide support and advice to young & upcoming photographers and we were delighted to present the print prize of a portfolio to the winner of the latest LPA Student Challenge.  Edward Fury won the LPA Student Challenge Three earlier this year and came into Metro to spend time with our expert creative retouch team getting his images spot on before the final C Type prints were produced.

Lisa Pritchard Agency (LPA) is one of the UK’s leading photographers agent and shoot producers and has amongst it’s many divisions the LPA Student Challenges, which strives to aid the sometimes challenging transition from student to self-employed photographer. Open to anyone studying photography in the UK there are three different challenges each year announced between October and January.  Winning LPA Student Challenge Three, Edd provided ten images and a statement about why he is ‘the one to watch’.

Edd comments: "Winning the award with Lisa Pritchard came as a huge surprise. But at the same time, it was a good boost to think I must be doing something right to grab the attention of an agent and come out on top of the surrounding high standard of competition. I had to submit a small portfolio of 10 images for review.

“I am primarily a still life photographer, but more recently I have been enjoying shooting portraiture and lifestyle to sit alongside my still life work. I shoot a lot of personal work alongside the work I do for clients. I enjoy the whole process of creating an image, and if your happy with it at the end, even better.

“During my years as a student I was a busy assistant and already had a few clients under my belt. The experience as an assistant was invaluable to my practice in my own work. I’d highly recommend to any student that they try to get regular assisting work before they leave education.

“Being able to have the portfolio produced with great quality prints and binding is great for me. I’ll be looking to take my book out to meetings with agencies as I look to pick up more and more clients over the coming year, and it’s a great tool to have.”

The prizes include invaluable industry experience days such as behind the scenes of a photoshoot, a review of your own portfolio and tips on how to succeed plus many other amazing prizes worth £100's.
